A full-size sedan that has been successful throughout its existence, the Avalon has made a name for itself in the segment and has been a strong force for more than almost three decades. Even with SUVs eating up the majority stake of the market, sedans like the Avalon are some of the few vehicles that have consistently proven their worth. And in its final iteration, the 2022 Toyota Avalon is going to hit the floor one last time before it is discontinued for good.
The 2022 Toyota Avalon comes under the fifth and final generation of the beloved sedan. The 2022 Avalon is available in six configurations – XLE, XLE Hybrid, XSE Hybrid Nightshade, Touring, Limited, and Limited Hybrid. Planning to add the Avalon to your garage before it's too late? Other than the standard 3.5-liter V-6 engine mentioned above, Toyota also offers a hybrid 2.5-liter Dynamic Force Four-Cylinder Engine coupled with two electric motors to produce a combined 215 horsepower. The base 3.5-liter engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission while the Hybrid variants come mated to an Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT) with Sequential Shiftmaticâ„¢ mode. While the hybrid engine offers comparatively better fuel efficiency, the 3.5-liter V-6 feels more alive.
